Optimism:-doctrine that everything is for the best -எல்லாம் நன்மைக்கே என்ற கொள்கை-hope that there will be a happy ending to every happening- வடையில்- வடையைப் பார்த்து மகிழ்பவர்.
Pessimism:- Unfavouble view of affairs - நம்பிக்கையற்ற குணம் pessimist-one who expects that something unpleasant will happen -inclimed to look always on the dark side of things -வடையின் நடுவில் உள்ள துவாரத்தில் மட்டும் ஏன் வடையைக் காணோம் என்று குறைபடுபவர்.
